TESTIMONY #27

Reggie speaks with a West Indies brogue.  While he seems much younger, he is 58.  I know this because during our discussion of Scripture and the work of Christ in our lives, Reggie shared that he had just had his 58th birthday and that at the present time of serving out a prison sentence he was by far the happiest he had ever been.  He didn’t allude to life on the outside being particularly unhappy.  He just made it clear to the rest of us in the room that his life since coming into relationship with Jesus was one of purpose, peace, and overcoming joy.  In the midst of horrible circumstances, brutal violence, chaos, and senseless bureaucratic oppression his connection with the risen Lord Jesus lifted him above all those conditions into fulfillment and joy.
